ORDER BEES WITH US AT VALLEY HILLS NURSERY!

WE WILL BE SELLING NUCLEUS COLONIES, FOR THE THIRD YEAR, AT THE NURSERY! WE ARE SO EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER THIS YET AGAIN, WITH HUGE THANKS GOING TO GABE OF PACIFIC COAST APIARIES.

Nucleus Hives are $275.

A 50% deposit is due by April 1st.

Remaining balance will be collected onsite when nucs are picked up at the nursery. We are looking at April 20th (give or take, depending on weather)

Aside from ordering your Nucleus Colonies, there are a few more steps to take.
Before you pick up your bees at the nursery, you will need to have these items already set up at home for each colony:
  • Two, ten frame (Langstroth) "deep" boxes
  • Two, ten frame "honey" boxes, mediums or shallows are sufficient.
  • One bottom board
  • One box lid
  • A smoker
  • A bee keeping suit & veil
  • One hive tool

As far as extracting your honey goes, there are a couple of options. You can purchase your own centrifugal extractor or you can look into a "flow" hive. There are other options too, but those are the most common.

Please BEE sure to do your research before delving into this! It is not for the faint of heart. Honey bees require attention just like any other pet does. You can either be a beekeeper or you can be a bee "haver."
